You have a deathwish or what? lol :)
hehe...no..
Its easier to migrate your system to debian than to recompile the kernel. Seriously speaking, its not that tough to recompile it but it takes a lot of time and effort. Its just not worth it, atleast for end users.
I have this thought in my mind to compile a kernel, because, one of my cousin brother suggested that I should surely try it out. He said, "it is great fun". But for sometime(or for a longtime), I won't be trying it out. (till I complete my PG) I would however, be migrating to Kubuntu, as soon as I purchase a new hdd.
But if your requirements is to run RH9 then there are some premade upgrades. You can check them out. But they are unoffical ones so you gotta be careful.
:) My system is older than one would think. One could also compare it as having Windows 98 on a Intel 915 / P4 3.06 Ghz with 512 MB of RAM ;)...(I donno, whether it works too..:-/)... I have been upgrading only Firefox on RH9. Rest, remain as they were from CD, as they serve my needs best.
