----- Original Message -----
I'm Planning to buy a PC for home. It will be a Celeron 1.2G, due to cost considerations(compared to P4). Are there any issues re installing Linux(specifically PCQuest Linux 8.0)
on
a Celeron system? Any particular motherboards or peripherals/cards I should avoid (or use)?
If you plan to use pcquest linux, please read the magazine since they have listed the motherboards which will work. From what I remember, there specified a problem with Intel 438 (or something like that -- its a new motherboard) and said all other standards motherboards should not give any problem. Even for that particular motherboard, they specified what you need to do in order to get it running.
Incidentally, I loaded PCQLinux 8 on a desktop PC with a Intel 810 motherboard. It has not given any problem so far.
