I am posting from the said gmail app, and it has no intention of allowing an option to bottom-post.
Throw your money on something more useful.
Such as? This is not the first time someone has claimed inability to bottom-post using a mobile device. Please note - this is merely to elicit information. I have no inflammatory intent.
Nokia messaging allows you do that, AFAIK. For the whiners complaining about bottom posting remember:
a. This is a mailing list for information/discussion. This is *not* facebook where is a matter of pride for some sorry souls that they reply with 'quips' on every thread. You don't *really* *have* *to* reply.
b. Even if you *really* *have* *to* reply, do so in the manner that shows some respect to the reader. There are reasons why interleaved posting is considered good form. These reasons have led to the 'evolution' of this quoting style. None of those reasons have anything to do with dependence on plain text format(*). Ignoring these reasons to instead top-post, IMHO, is regressive /not/ progressive. If you use a client that does not allow you to quote properly, that client too is regressive. It's like going back to the DOS era (I only do one thing at a time and only use one application at a time, why do I need multi-tasking ? ...come to think of it, dear lord ! there is a phone that actually follows this principle, betcha the top-posting cavemen like that phone too !)
c. Saying that you cannot quote properly using your mobile and you *have* to reply only from your mobile is equivalent to saying, "I am sorry, I *have* to take my call in a movie theater" -- it just means that you are a jerk. There are options, but you'd rather not be inconvenienced, however, you think it is ok to inconvenience others.
cheers, - steve
(*) Contrast this to the most recent evolution of considering html & utf-8 encoded mail as acceptable on most mailing lists. That wasn't so till sometime back.
