[ILUG-BOM] Why linux operates my H/D at 33MHz PIO????? :-(

i use RH9 and Fedora core1 as OS with grub as os loader. both of this uses my ATA 1333 compatible H/D as 33PIO by default. i am changing it to 66MHz manually every time i boot the M/c by issuing " idebus=66" command at the grub prompt. pls give me the permanent solution for this!!!

I am doing linux network progarming in C++ and QT right now.

can some one help me by explaining me how can i integrate C++ and QT so that i can pass values/strings comming to my over the network can be passed to the QT forms and strings of the QT forms from textbox cab be passed on the network on the packets!!

pls. give me some good references to the sites where i can find good QT and C++ integration examples.
