Does anyone use a broadband connection, and run a LAN behind a Linux Server ?
Yes
I wasnt aware of broadband companies operating in Mumbai. I know of MTNL, Reliance, Hathway, Sify which dont have attractive plans.
I understand that most broadband providers talk on "single" connection/Single PC only for residential connections.
Since there was no question asked, I am not sure the relevance of your statement and the right context.
I think I know what he means. Incable, BSES, 7star mention in their ToS that only 1 PC may connect to their service. They will "disconnect" the users who are found to use NAT or any kind of bandwidth sharing techniques... which is absurd. In the end all I get is only the pathetic narrowband speed. Doesnt matter whether I have 1 computer or a internal network of 100 PCs.
Regards, Dinesh.
