Hi group, I have installed Suse Linux 7.3 on my HP d330 desktop.I am having problems configuring the sound card. The sound card is AC 97 inbuilt card in the intel chipset. The intel chipset specs which i get from lspci -v are: 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation: Unknown device 2570 (rev 02) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company: Unknown device 12bc Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Memory at f8000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=64M] Capabilities: [e4] #09 [0106]
This is the output of lspci -v which gives info abt the inbuilt sound card: 00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation: Unknown device 24d5 (rev 02) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company: Unknown device 12bc Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17 I/O ports at 1000 [size=256] I/O ports at 1400 [size=64] Memory at fc480400 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512] Memory at fc480600 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256] Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2
My kernel version is 2.4.10.It contains a driver code for i810 chipset audio card(AC 97).But when i try to insert that module(insmod i810_audio.o) i get the follwing errors.
Using /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: unresolved symbol ac97_probe_codec /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: unresolved symbol unregister_sound_dsp /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: unresolved symbol register_sound_dsp /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: unresolved symbol register_sound_mixer /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: unresolved symbol unregister_sound_mixer /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: unresolved symbol ac97_set_dac_rate /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: unresolved symbol ac97_set_adc_rate
Should i upgrade my kernel?Any Links which contain the linux driver for the concerned card will be helpful.Looking for help from the group.
