Is it possible to receive email directly to my PC if I have a static IP address (cable net)? i.e. without using yahoo or my isp.
Yes it is possible ...... but Not on Natted IP(although possible through port forwarding)... in this case your email adress will be you@[ip.ad.re.ss] ( your ip address in square bracket). alternatively register a domain and set the MX to point to your IP ....
I plan to keep my PC powered on all the time.

If I can send mail without externel smtp server of isp or yahoo etc. (with the help of sendmail) I should also be able to receive mail right?
