Acer Aspire series come with preinstalled Linpus Linux. Though the preinstalled distro isn't worth using, you can install your favourite distro. It works well. One of my friends bought the Acer Aspire 4736. It comes with * Linpus Linux * C2D T6600 * 3GB RAM(DDR3 as claimed by my friend) * 320GB HDD * 14" Display * Intel GMA 4500 graphics

It costs about Rs 32,000 and Ubuntu 9.04 worked out of the box for him. Good value for money machine IMHO.
