1. what is your budget? your budget would influence it a lot. nowdays, average pc can be built for <20,000. a coumple of weeks back, i assembled a celeron 1.7ghz/256ddr ram, 40gb hdd, 52x writer, 2.1 speakers etc system for 15,000 (without monitor). in the same prie, i could buy a AMD system with 2+ Ghz speed too...
2. what is your gaming choice? if you are going to play simple games, you can do with onboard video and sound. but if you wish to play powerpacked games like quake and other, you need to invest in separate accelerated agp card, it costs more than average.
3. what are the other stuff you mean? the pc mentioned above is sufficient for your needs if you are going to occasional gaming, music and surfing...
you need not buy the fastest machine around, first prioritise your needs and muy the components required. this will help a lot..
