Hi,
I needed a Debian/Ubuntu/Mandriva DVD to install on my sisters new laptop. So I went around hunting for a LFY magazine for the free DVD. On my way I cam across a pirated CD stall at andheri station and was surprised to find a 'pirated' copy of Fedora core 8. I went up to him to ask for a Debian DVD. "What's that?", he asked. I told him it was a Linux.
So he responded that he had only two Linux... ek Fedora aur doosra 'man-drive' ;)
Either ways, good to see Linux penetrating another market ;)
I have seen Fedora being sold with the pirated CD/DVD's near CST station. Only problem is that they charge a bit high. I had inquired for Fedora 7 DVD when Fedora 8 was released, just out of curiosity, each DVD costing Rs. 250/-.
I have been collecting Linux distro DVDs and CDs since quite some time, probably hoping subconsciously that I will be able to open a museum with them some day. If someone wants to maintain an archive, please feel free to contact me off-list.
