Hi Mejo
CD duplicators work well, we have one in our office. The advantages are as follows.
- Works without requiring a dedicated PC. - Fast: Duplicates 1 CD X 7 in 3 minutes - Its OS independent, works with all types of CDs. - Idiot proof, even a non techie can use it.. doesn't require you to know computer or windows to use. put in the blanks and press the green button and wait for the CDs to eject. In of failure the CDs don't eject.
Disadvantages: I don't know of any.
This is the one that we have and costs Rs. 25K + cost of CD-R Drives. You can also put DVD-R and use it as a DVD duplicator.

I wonder if its possible to build something like this using Linux.

Hi,
I would like to know the advantages/disadvantages of a standalone CD Duplicator. Is it advisable to use such devices to make copies of bootable cds? What are the best models available and how much does they cost?
