Rediff had a _very_ short-lived front-page news item on ISO approval of OOXML. It immediately started attracting anti-OOXML comments, and they promptly relegated it to their backside... (no pun intended)

Given the quality of rediff news items, and those of comments on them, it's hard to convince oneself that moving this important news item away had nothing more to it.
In today's TOI there is a news item on how M$ has a dispute with Indian tax guys. M$ wants exemption from income tax as software is a 'product' and exempt from tax. The tax guys say that in reality the software is not a product but a royalty as it only allows the user to copy it on one machine to use it for a consideration.
