Hi,
Well oracle 9i was developed on SuSE as the platform. so obviously it would run the best on SuSE as this is the platform it has been tested and certified by oracle.

Here are some packages for oracle on SuSE (i.e some init scripts to start and stop oracle services)

You can contact me (off the List) if you need SuSE 8.0 on CD.I could burn a copy for you or give you my copy to duplicate.

Never argue with an idiot. First they drag you down to their level, then they beat you with experience.

Where can I get SuSE 8.0 (that is the latest version I think). Some place near Powai would be really nice. We need to install SuSE on one of the Dept. servers, since Oracle is apparently supported only on SuSE!
Oracle is supported on RedHat also. http://www.redhat.com/marketplace/oracle/
However, unless your work is specifically geared towards Oracle, you must
also consider the RedHat Database server that runs PostgreSQL
