I have been trying to get Dishnet DSL working on my Mandrake 8.2 machine. This is a USB modem supplied by Dishnet in Mumbai, and is probably a Conexant-make (as is seen in Windows).
This modem is unsupported in Linux. Dishnet offers an alternate solution that costs about double this for a Hardware router that works with Linux. <snip>
Any pointers to the same will prove extremely useful.
This has been pretty much a FAQ in the Bangalore LUG. I recommend asking around before choosing a broadband ISP. I recommend ditching Dishnet.
