hi, no its not dhcp, earlier when they started the router that they were giving was in pppoe mode, and it was required for us to use something like rp-pppoe to dial out. but now they have come out with this new dlink modem (DsL-502T), which has a static ip given to it. this modem also has a lan side ip which is 192.168.1.1 so either we can give our machines a static ip set default route through the box's ip.
In windows it better to leave the setting to dhcp.
