Hi,
I am trying to install the new kernel 2.5.70, from kernel.org
I compiled the kernel and the modules and installed it using make install. I installed the modules too using make modules_install.
However after making the necessary changes to lilo and rebooting, I could not boot into the new kernel. The comp says "Uncompressing Linux..... ok" and hangs. No messages further. no error message... nothing.
I tried it with initrd (and necessary changes to lilo.conf) using mkinitrd but even that does not work.
Where am I going wrong? What modules will be required in the initrd files? I used only ext2 and ext3.
