Yes you can. Don't install grub/lilo on the second distro you install. Then make an entry to boot the second distro in the lilo/grub of your first distro.
Also, if your sound card was detected on RH9 I would hazard to say that it should work in any of the Fedoras. RH9 is quite ancient.
