Hi, Try this approach only of nothing else works. There is this linux rescue disk called Knoppix available at http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html. Its a live linux filesystem on the cd, meaning that u could run the entire OS (including X - KDE and Open Office). You can use this cd to boot into your computer. Since this cd has the ability to see most types of partition, including NTFS, u can then backup whatever data u want, either on a spare drive, cd or on a server.
