Is there an adapter card to install a PS2 style mouse in an ISA slot of a 486 Mobo? Thanks for your help.
please put a proper subject line - your query is very interesting, but this thread will not show up on any search
Thank you Kenneth, I could not think of the words for a proper subject line
I am still interested in hearing from the knowledgeable folks if an adapter board (capable of installing a ps2 style mouse into an ISA slot) exists.
If you want a ps2mouse or kybrd on a old din connector, a din male to ps2 female cable is available. A ps2 female to Din male is also available. This allows connecting old device to new mobo or vice versa. Used both and they work well.
On a related note the usb to ps2 does not work very reliably for me. After booting the mouse and keybrd is never recognised. One has to unplug and replug, the keyboard will start but not the mouse.
Also it does not work at all with a KVM switch. The result is I have to use multiple mice, or junk the KVM for a newer version.
