Hi All,
I am looking for a USB Wi-Fi NIC interface, so that I can connect to a wireless network, on a PC running Linux. (Suse 9.2, Kernal 2.6 i believe )
I have found the URL below,
http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/Linux.Wireless.drivers....
which lists a lot of options, but I was wondering if anyone on this list can suggest from their experience, a good USB piece of hardware, that is relatively easy to install.
My most important requirment, is to be able to use ethareal, to sniff packets on the WLAN, so I am looking for a driver that supports monitor or promouscious mode.
Ethreal seems to have problems with this on WinXP, with most common wifi nic drivers, and so recommends using Linux, therefore my quest to find a device.
I dont have any PCI slots free, but if anyone has had good experience with a PCI card, then I may even free up a slot, instead of going the USB way.
Thanks Shahed.
