Local train may be preferable. We get a connecting train from Karjat to Lonavala. It is a short fantastic journey up the ghats. Alternatively a ST Asiad bus from Dadar can also get us to Lonavala.

• common meeting point.

Dadar (CR) is a nice spot.

• where in lonavala will we be staying/waiting?
• when would we be returning?

Best we leave real early on Sunday morning and return by 2000hrs, say. This will eliminate the cost of overnight stay. There are many resorts (with pool) in which you can spend a day at reasonable costs. They also provide food.

Local tickets (return) Dadar-Lonavala will not exceed Rs.75
