Hi,
I am trying to configure VPN through RedHat Fedora core 3 using pptpconfig.
But land up with this error
Using interface ppp0pptpconfig: monitoring interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/2 anon warn[open_inetsock:pptp_callmgr.c:317]: connect: Connection refused anon fatal[callmgr_main:pptp_callmgr.c:123]: Could not open control connection to *****the ip address of the vpn server******* anon fatal[open_callmgr:pptp.c:426]: Call manager exited with error 256 Modem hangup Connection terminated. pptpconfig: pppd process terminated by signal 16 (failed) pptpconfig: SIGUSR1
Is it that i can only connect pptpconfig using an dialup or adsl connection, what i am trying is to connect the VPN using my local LAN, is that possible or i am just wasting my time.
If this is the case any other software through which i can achive my goal.
Also i forgot to mention the VPN server i am trying to connect is a Windows box.
I have done the VPN configuration using the sorgeforge url for fedora 3. I simply followed the steps from the URL but it didn't work.
From the logs it appears that your windows box is refusing incoming
VPN connections. Make sure that you can connect to your windows box using any other client.
Make sure you have proper password configured in /etc/ppp/chap-secrets. Also ensure that the kernel module for MPPE compression is loaded before you start your PPTP client.
