can you give us the IP of the machine and the list of IPs that can be allocated by dhcp?
We have not configured DHCP for servers.Dynamic IPs which are given to customers are from 203.187.196.* series.basically we are an ISP,providing Broadband service. my server's ip is 203.187.192.19. so 203.187.192.* is allocated for servers only.and all server is having static ips.most importantly we r using cisco's CNR.we dont have DHCP.
It is advised that when you send descriptions of IPs used for production systems or otherwise on a mailing list, only non-routable IP pools be used to describe your problems. Giving out real IPs acts as invitation to malicious crackers, specially when you have also provided various server versions. So be careful next time.
i think its a firmware problem.isn't it?? not entirely convinced.

my server's configuration is: (Proliant DL320 server)
compaq NC3163 fast ethernet 100mbps nic 1.0 ghz cpu with 1 gb RAM.
you mentioned in a previous mail that you use Cisco CNR. I gather from Cisco's website that CNR is a integrated DNS/DHCP service that allows policy based naming and ip services. Have you checked that there are no conflicts due this ? The best way to solve this problem will be to slowly eliminate each variable.
