exactly. If it is present, it should contain a list of commands to execue. This file should either not be present, or be non-empty.

It is installed But I checked ymessenger was not the problem for X crash.
IIRC, when the unix ym installs, sometimes it creates an empty .xinitrc. I think that's when you select start messenger when X starts up or something like that (don't remember).
