[ILUG-BOM] Linux alternative to Irfanview

Hello,

I was looking up an alternative to IrfanView which is a light weight doze based utility for quick image editing. Found 'showfoto'. It is a cut throat competitor for IrfanView except that it lacks the batch conversion utility that is very handy in Irfanview. However other features are terrific to touch up photos, change brightness contrast etc. The Text tool is also lovely. You can scroll through the font sizes and see the actual result go big and small live. Overall a great piece of software. The best part of it is that I did not find it in google in spite of a reasonable search. It was found in the apt repos of my Lenny, silently awaiting its turn to see the world.
