hehehe..i'm not taking the bait ranjeet! But ur right, colleges have to take the initiative, the industry can only support.
[snip] but lets not wait for it....thatz why we hav started the PRC nd got some projects goin.
Of
course, these students came to us and spent time with us in exploring what they wanted to do.I'm sure most students can initiate these kind of discussions with their contacts in the industry.
[snip] nd we hav to be more proactive in gettin students togetther nd lettin them know that there r organisations out there to help them go ahead nd take a shot at gnu-linux nd free software in general.

aaaarrgghhh!!!You guys dont have the hottest
technologies
as subjects!! optical networking, Wireless
technolgies,
and design
patterns...!!!
oops ... kishor .. u r giving too hard on
educational
system ..;) everybuddy says we need change but it taks ages to implement... :-)
yeh but one point is that these subject which are
very
useful and fundamentals of any CS professional .... i've seen some people with latest technologies certification in their hands having lil knowledge about simple data
structures,
programmin logic, some people who are so called RDBMS master don't
know
implementations of ISAM and HISAM, DDL also .. ( these r just examples..... cud not find better
becuz of
my less knowledge ) I don't expect them to be thorough professionals
on each
and everything ... neither i mean to say that these guys who are
having
this in their curriculam are master of all ... ;)
boy..u shld implement what we had in college..a
parallel
"auxillary curriculum" that ensures ur in sync
with the
industry!!
yeah this is what is expected from you.... provide solutions :-)
apart from the fundamental subjects which are
needed for
sound understanding of the whole system, they can
implement the
"parallel auxillary curriculum"... colleges need to take initiatives for the same... and people like you can provide really nice ideas
for
this .... even you cud suggest some projects on latest technologies
(sync
with the industry) which they can take up on their own...
See students don't lack the enthu, zeal most of
the times
they r not aware of what is goin in the industry....
So we can take some steps to help them out by
giving idea
bout what is happening in the industry .... :-)
so help popularizing linux@sangli .. trevor was
askin for
guys who can help ..... i suggest u can talk much better on
networks,
security and cryptography .... as well as u can talk bout
latest
trends also :-)
