Right! Its derived from ... French liberté = Latin libertas == freedom "logiciels libres" = free software ( French )Wrong!! libre == free.. also liberté != libre though they have common roots in Latin.
Could you form a sentence that uses the word libre for free and states "This book is available free of cost" in French?
