Yes, Knoppix is indeed a piece of art. Besides acting as an excellent demo distro, it can also act as an excellent rescue disk because it can see all sorts of Filesytems and even creates shortcuts on the desktop. http://distrowatch.com as an interview with the founder of Knoppix. Knoppix can also be "installed" on the machine if one desires.

Hey guys, After reading this slashdot article, I was really struck by the point made there, that you could use a Knoppix Linux _without any chance of damage to your PC_. It's based on Debian, and it's perfect for those who wanna evaluate it. (For those hearing for the first time, it's a "Live" CD -- ie no need to install, just boots off the CD). I've noticed that LinuxPlaza has it too :-) What do you think?
