Slight change of topic - does anyone here know how to disable or reset the admin password on a DI-524 wireless router? Basically, it has been set once, and I thought I wrote the password down safely, but perhaps too safely, as I now do not know where to find it. I have tried my obvious passwords and none work. Luckily, I have the password stored in one computer so I can administer the router for now, but this is hardly a safe situation. I tried changing the password from that machine too, but before accepting the command it needs authentication (using the forgotten password) manually. The firmware is ver B, and it turns out that this model is not supported (ver A to E are supported excepting B) in India.

I assume, the passwords in the other computer are stored in Mozilla or similar type of browsers? If its Mozilla then you can go to: tools -> password manager -> managed stored passwords. There you can click "Show passwords" to see your password. If you're using any other browser and it doesnt have such a feature then you can simply try checking out the place where the passwords are stored. Normally these passwords are "secured" by "encrypting" them using Base64 encoding or something which is easily broken.
Hope this helps you :)
