Use SuSE for heaven's sake if you don't want to bother with something this simple.
I don't see how using SuSE will automagically solve his problem. The problem is with DHCP and not the RedHat distro.
A person who is using Debian (I haven't tried Suse) will never face any difficulties in removing a package. I think that is what Amish was telling.
