Which saturday.
Next week, 24th but can be adjusted a week more if you want to. The venue is available only on Saturday evenings.
Just as an addon, why stop with just iso downloads, why not have a series of wired ports, where anyone can carry in a laptop/desktop, boot via dhcp+pxe and choose to install their favorite OS of choice (Sadly, we need wired ports for this, as most systems lack the ability to boot via wifi -- blame "Dumb-But-Cheap-Does-It-All-In-Firmware-or-Driver"<TM> Hardware :) . I'm sure we can give the a menu with a variety of free OS's to choose from. If u an get the hardware ready, I volunteer to drop by and set up the server to handle network installations of Fedora, Debian and whatever else we choose to put on it. And Probably some of the BSD guru's out there can do the same for *BSD :P
Oh yes, please do drop by. It would be lovely to get all the minds working together. I will get my linux box for use as a server, with keyboard and mouse. A monitor should be available at the venue itself. The box is already loaded with Debian 3.1 Sarge RC5 base install and Apache for the web server. JTD will get the wireless mesh up and running. For the wired download, all we need is an 8 port switch and if anyone has one to spare for that evening, he can bring it to the venue. Those who want to get their wired machines up, could bring a LAN cable or two. :)
And this is an announcement to All, that the date for the workshop is 31st March 2007, a Saturday and bank holiday and timing from 5.30 pm onwards. Everyone please bring your latest distro CD/DVD collection to pack in as many distros as possible. All those who wish to come as observers are most welcome to join in.
