What we could do for a start is to have small events organised every fortnite, inviting participation from Industry and Academia. I think we should have such events separate from LUG meets. The free software community has grown and survived on a spirit of kinship and sharing more than anything else I guess... We need to inculcate these things. Learning will come automatically. The primary purpose of the LUG should be to get Linuxers together - not to spoonfeed and teach people stuff they can learn from a hundred different sources.
bah, but what's the use ? We are steeped in bureaucracy...
