man ifconfig(8) Just set the MAC of the Linux box the same as that of the windows node.
I asked my cable guy to disable the mac address checking for my pc, but he refused to do it.
At this point, I would go to dialup. I will not deal with technology providers that inisist I use /their/ choice of tool. I will not deal with "ISPs" giving RFC 1918 addresses. Being NATted is not what I am willing to accept.
