rule of thumb - if you dont know what you are doing, dont use a gui designer. You will never learn anything. If you *do* know what you are doing its faster and more efficient to do it manually. Although there is no harm in using a designer to get a quick and dirty starting screen. (which you can easily do it quicker by cutting and pasting from work you have already done.
