Hi,
My neighbour is sick of his Windows 98 and now wants Linux on his desktop machine too, after using Kubuntu on his laptop. His is an old P3 566MHz computer with 96MB RAM.

Should I try out Xubuntu? Or do you have suggestions for some other distro?
Fedora Core 2 worked nicely on my P3 450MHz with 192MB RAM. I would recommend upgrading the RAM on that machine. Rest everything looks fine. If you want a super slim and responsive installation then go in for Debian Sarge. My P1 166MHz works like a charm and the install is just over 300MB :) Though I dont have X installed and no multimedia :P
