Dear all,
This is a formal call for papers. The Open Source India Tech Days (formerly LinuxAsia) [www.osidays.com] is scheduled for March 12-14, 2009, at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai. The 2009 edition will have a strong flavour of technology in it—thus the addition of the word "Tech Days". The target audience of OSI Tech Days ’09 will be (1) IT Managers and (2) Software Developers, who in turn will represent the needs of India’s varied industry segments. Following are the track details for the event:
Software Developers’ Track 12th March: FOSS-enabled software development 13th March: FOSS-powered Mobile phones (and devices)
IT Managers’ Track 12th March: FOSS Tools for IT Managers 13th March: Virtualization and Cloud Computing
Everyone/Desktop 14th March: FOSS-powered desktop (KDE, GNOME, OpenOffice.org, Mozilla, etc.)
Additional note: Considering the world-wide recession, the idea is to turn this into an opportunity (for good) for large-scale FOSS adoption around the region. Thus, the idea behind Tech Days is to demonstrate to the mass how with FOSS we can make computing better, faster and cheaper, whether it's deployment or development.
We're looking for experts in their particular domain of work, who could be working for an organisation, or as an individual. You can ping us off-list with the following details at lfyedit [AT] efyindia [DOT] com:
