Sometime Today, Iqbal Dehlvi assembled some asciibets to say:
But it disappoints when it comes to deal with multimedia apps. It plays VCD but cant play DVD. Cant play OGG without using plugin. A/V chats clients are disappointing.
Actually, the problem with playing DVDs isn't technical, it's illegal. You cannot legally play DVDs on any player that is not officially approved by the MPAA. The MPAA does not like Free software because there's no licence restrictions. They can't force you not to view certain DVDs.
Currently software exists to watch DVDs on linux, but it won't be distributed by any distro based in the US because that could put them into legal bs.
If you really want it bad, start a campaign to kick the MPAA.
Unite to build an OS which handles everthing for everyone.
But one OS won't handle everything for everyone. A server cannot handle desktops well, and a multimedia box may not be suitable for office apps.
