hi roshan, why don't you try ubuntu? I mean unless it is absolutely necessary for you to use fedora, I will suggest just install ubuntu and try. it has been used successfully by first time linux users also. it will give you all the tools like open office and mosila and firefox. it also have movy player and mp3 player. there is even one great feature. you get c: and d: and all windows drives open by default. and after all fedora or ubuntu or debian
I do have Ubuntu CD's. I plan to install Kubuntu on my new hard disk, being used to K Desktop Environment. I had planned it to buy this month, but may be I'll have to wait for one more month. The purpose of asking that question was whether people have been able to _completely_ migrate to non-free software.
It may not be possible till people are ready to compromise, which they cannot be forced to, but given an option to choose.
linux is the same.
Yes they are! (at the core). Though, I don't want to start a flame or controversial topic, I would request you to refer to the OS as GNU/Linux and the kernel as Linux. (though, Linus himeself said, "its ridiculous")
I will give you on 27th try it.
Thanks for offering. I have already tried the LIVE CD of Ubuntu and Kubuntu. (6.06 LTS)
And yes, thanks to CANONICAL (and Mark Shuttleworth too!) for shipping free CD's. I recently received 5 Kubuntu CD's.
Due to limited Data transfer capacity, I cannot download ISO of AGNULA. If you have the ISO and can burn me a copy of the same, I'll be thankful.
