if you are a programmer, you will get help on doing the coding.
Really? I wonder if I want to be there then. Why would I
spend my time helping some guy to code? Unless its a foss project or consultancy?
True. IMHO if the student has bothered even an iota to grasp an infinitesimal of theory and then tried to do his/her practicals then that student needs an intro as to how the FOSS way of working is helpful to him/her and the community in general - and in order to do this the intro of FOSS tools needs to be given.
Those(and there are MANY) who just don't give a shit and are there to get degrees and placements - well all you can do is patiently tell them WHY this is important - the few who do get the initial interest may then decide to follow for a time(and hopefully stick on and join the former category) - or NOT.
In which case there's no point dragging a troll to the water. Let alone teach him to code :P
So providing my health helps me enough, I will do what I
want to do with or without any help.
Dude - take care - and that's from the heart.
My personal belief and whatever I
learnt over last 2 years from lots of people is, it the audience doesn't care for learning more, nothing will work. Thats why I shamelessly support just one guy
Getting one into FOSS then supporting and encouraging him that he may one day enlighten others is one of the most noble things one can do.
( who has never told me more than one
thing - I want to learn more, I don't care if there is any incentive involved ) on this list, who has told me not to do so in public, so I refrain from taking his name. But he knows that, the delight I get to see his commits just once a day, is a joy big enough and an accomplishment in itself.
Sir Pradeepto, may thou and thy pupil keep heading steadfast into the GREAT ``K" on the horizon and be greeted by Katie and Konqi at its door :-)
