Hi, I recently took a new internet connection from my local cable operator. He has configured Win98 and set up the gateway as a proxy server too.
I tried setting up my Slack 8 box with the same settings as in Win98 (ip add, netmask etc), but I keep gettting the same error:
SIOADDRT:Network unreachable.
I assume hardware is setup correctly.
Can you post the output of 1] netstat -nr 2] ifconfig Plus all other related commands? A screenshot?
How does one configure linux to use a proxy server at boot time?
This question is wrong. Proxy servers are usually used by apps. So, set your netscape/links/mozilla to use the ( web ) proxy.
