How about moving this mailing list to a message board?
Use a meaningful subject line when sending mails to this list, and don't reply when you actually want to start a new mail.
Message boards are terribly inconvenient to use. You need a browser to access it, and have to manually refresh a web page to find out if new messages have been posted or not.
As a mailing list, you receive everything in your inbox, and can read it using your email program. You can delete messages you don't want to see, and save messages that you want to keep.
