Hi,
I have been having a few problems with the 2.6.4 kernel.
=> INIT: Id "3" respawning too fast : disabled for 5 minutes
At this moment I had just logged off from console 3, but it was just hung there... the login prompt didn't come on. References to this error on the net date back to 2002, no new ones. And all of them speak of program bug. But no recent references, so I'm stuck with it right now.
=> atkbd.c: Keyboard on isa0060/serio0 reports too many keys pressed
Happens sometimes when I press C-x C-s to save my files in emacs. Doesn't happen all the time though. Also, its not the hard error that has been referred to on quite a few forums. Its an informative error that just goes away after screwing up the console for you. Especially irritating when working on a curses based interface.
=> The system slows down and goes for a stroll like as if it were windows. Happens generally when I have around 4-5 instances of Mozilla Firebird open along with applications like gxine and/or Evolution or dpkg running in the backround (in short, some of the heavy stuff). Earlier version of the kernel I had (2.6.0) would handle almost 3-4 times the load much more efficiently.
I'm running a 500MHz Celeron with 192 MB RAM and 10 GB HDD (4.5GB for Linux and 128MB swap)
I just wanna know if its something to do with my compile options or my hardware (keyboard all messed up?) or its just the bugs in the kernel.
Thanx, Siddhesh
