Linux is free software licensed under the GNU GPL, which means if you make any modifications to it, the modifications have to be distributed with the binary as well. In the past Linksys has violated the GPL by not doing so and has had to comply with the license. I hope that you are not doing the same and violating the GPL. (your description of Linux as proprietary seems to suggest that). Same applies to other free software licensed under GPL.
