No, that's what's most unfortunate. Upgrading the RAM or rather, spending ANY kind of money on that box is not an option, because he just bought a new laptop :)

The laptop runs Windows XP and Kubuntu with XGL. Yesterday the fellow told me that after using Kubuntu for nearly a month, he got sick of using Windows on that old box and desperately wants me to put Linux on it. Hence this thread.

He's not the only one impressed. His classmates in the college who've seen his Kununtu are absolutely in love with it too..
