no - attempt is also punishable under indian law. The constitution does not allow unhindered free speech. There are restrictions. One of them is speech in the process of soliciting commission of a crime. And if a list admin allowed it, he could wind up behing bars
- remember what happened to bazee. Rape a day in delhi is a
reality. You want us to learn to live with it? Any responsible foss group will certainly take a principled stand against any and all criminal activity on its lists/websites
Thanks. This is what we've felt too.
Incidentally, our group is the Nashik OOMD group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nashikoomd). Almost everyone on our list is a college student and not very tech or email savvy. Piracy is pampant, and folks don't understand netiquette very much. I myself have just a moderate level of understanding of netiquette.
I therefore look toward ILug Mumbai for help.
Thanks everyone for the feedback and for voicing your opinions. Seeing the majoiry opinion makes me feel that we took the right decision in not even allowing piracy related posts to the group.
