try mgetty and friends. mgetty has companions like faxgetty, v(oice)getty etc.
In Debian there are three packages - mgetty, mgetty-fax and mgetty-voice. Other helpers are mgetty-viewfax and mgetty-pvftools.

Hello Everyone
I need some help with choice of software. I have three Sparcs running solaris8. Now I want to take sync backup of all these machines.
For this I have installed RH 9.0 on a PIV with SCSI HDD. Please suggest me the software which I can use for backup. The software has to be free and open source.
Thanks Anand Prakash

Try amanda. Its a nicely written software. I consists of amanda-client which sends data onto your backup server. Which could run tape or do backups on hard drive. Recovery procedure is also intuitive. Amanda also does backups of samba shares.

Try rsync and friends. U can also run rsync over ssh for secure transfer of data and if u don't want to run rsync server.

For Linux-to-Linux hot-sync u can use intermazo or nbd fs. both are on the fly replication of data over network.
