Hi I have FC-4 Server. I have done thinclient network for three PCs. I have problem with monitor resolution. Clients boot from network and it comes to login screen. But X display gets flickr on some b/w monitors. Display gets ok on color monitor but we cannot use color monitor as we dont have it. I think coz of monitor refres rate it is happening. Some b/w monitors give display ok. Resolution is 800x600.
1. How can i define resolution and monitor refresh rate for thin clients in LTSP ?
please reply neelesh

Dear neelesh
You need to define the proper mode's for lower refresh rates in your lts.conf file. Check on the ltsp website on how to add custom X modelines to an lts.conf file. Also, set a terminal to boot into shell mode, and experiment with then "xvidtune" utility to get the modelines right, and then switch to the X-terminal mode in ltsp. I've used ltsp at a clients office with extremely old systems and b/w monitors(like p-100's with 16mb and *UGH* cirrus login and *Double UGH* SIS6216 Cards), and with a little bit of experimenting I've got it to work reliably at 800x600, and even got a couple to go up to 1024x768 Interlaced. If you want a copy of that lts.conf file, mail me, and I'll get it, as i don't have it lying round just right now.
