i had installed kubuntu recently n dn ubuntu too, in both, i couldnt use the internet. i downloaded the sify installer for linux, dn did as it was mentioned in the manual/readme file. i set the ip, dns everything but i still coundt use the internet.when i logged in, it woud simply show the timestamp n dats it, nothing further. could u help me out pls

Well, for starters you could help us by telling us :
Can you ping their gateway and DNS servers? i'm 100% sure even the idiot's at their customer support MUST have asked you to do that. If you haven't well... please do so.
Also, this is an email and not an SMS, you have about 7kb to write your mail(if i'm not mistaken). Moreover even if it was an SMS, please heed Mrugesh's advice.
