Today at a client's place I had set up a wireless router and tried Ubuntu 7.04 live CD on his Dell XPS M1210 lappy. It not only gave the usual laptop grade Desktop with sound but I clicked on a network icon with a cross on the task bar and it showed the surrounding wireless network. On clicking it I got the interface to enter the 128 bit key and my net was up and running. Bang out of the box. Thanks to the preloaded Vista, the customer will himself download the CD iso from Ubuntu. The wireless network card in the lappy is some Intel one.

dear roni, please give the model number. I have a friend who is going to buy a new laptop and does not want to do the crime of installing an operating system which is ment for security breaches and IT terrorisom. and he values his money so much so that he does not want to surrender his machine to a rubbish thing. so he is persisting on ubuntu and wants to know what model of del will work since we all now know that del and ubuntu have signed an agreement. so please tell me the model. regards, Krishna.
