Am a bit busy this evening. Will get back to you with
a set of replies on the books and debian cd's front.
I will give you all it takes to get rocking with
Linux by this weekend. BTW...Red Hat India...suks. Am
only sticking around cause of the Technical
Challenges.
PN: Henceforth please write to me at
trevorwarren@softhome.net as i pop it regularly.
hey trevor!!
i would like to try Debian if u can get the cd's
for me from somewhere
.... it's not a question of guts .... i would like
to learn the OS ..... so
i do want to get my hands dirty .... once i learn
how things work .... then
maybe i could switch to something like Red Hat that
would be easy to use for
my family as well ..... and besides right now i
don't even have space for
aything greater than 500MB ..... and that too i am
gonna resize my D:\ to
get it ..... do u have any repartitioning softwares?
.... and can i get
debian also from kamlesh at Rendezvous ... and one
more thing is there like
a book or something which could help me understand
debian's workings .....
i already downloaded a quite a few ebooks on Linux
.... been using knoppix
just to screw around ...... again thanx a lot .....
suggest a few ebooks on
linux too ....
hope u r enjoying ur work at redhat:)
dinesh.

Hey 0101010101(Bits...:)),
The smallest would be LRP(Linux Router Project)
about 2 MB without X. Since you wanna start out
and
learn i suggest you go in for RH 9.0. A minimum
install would talk about 1GB but will give you a
real
good deal on getting to understand what the OS
really
is. X will be part of the minimum install.
If you have the guts...try Debian. Its a hackers
Distribution and can fit into < 500MB with X.
Don't
expect the cute-simple-drag-n-drop installers like
Red
Hat.
I have RH 9.0 with me. Please come and take the
same
from Kamlesh ar RenDezvous CyberCafe. We provide
FREE
Access to Open Source and Free Software for a
mimimum
deposit of 100/- which is refundable.
